The Smithsonian Institution, a center for research dedicated to public education, national service, and scholarship in the arts, sciences, and history, holds more than 140 million artifacts and specimens. Composed of sixteen museums and galleries, the Smithsonian is proud to deliver innovative, academically rich programs to our Discovery Adventures page. Working with the Smithsonian's resources, the Copernicus Education Gateway will create several co-produced online events showcasing special exhibitions and events, such as our Lewis and Clark feature.
